Ultrasound examinations

Learn more about the state-of-the-art ultrasound examinations available in our practice for the diagnosis and monitoring of diseases.

As an internal medicine practice, we offer you a wide range of ultrasound procedures for the diagnosis and monitoring of various areas of the body. Ultrasound is a very gentle and non-invasive method for examining different body regions. Ultrasound waves are used, which are reflected by the organs and tissues in the body. These reflected waves are captured by a transducer and displayed as an image on a monitor. These images allow us to obtain important information about the structure and function of the examined organs and tissues.

In our practice, we offer ultrasound examinations of the thyroid, abdominal organs, chest, heart, and blood vessels. Different procedures are used depending on the area being examined. For example, when examining the abdominal organs, we can perform both a standard examination and a Doppler examination to assess blood flow in the organs. When examining the heart, we use echocardiography, which allows a very accurate representation of the heart and heart valves.
We would like to provide you with more detailed information about our ultrasound examinations of the thyroid, abdominal organs, chest, heart, and blood vessels below.
Thyroid Sonography
The thyroid is an important part of the body's hormone system and can cause various symptoms if it malfunctions. An ultrasound examination of the thyroid allows for an accurate assessment of its size, structure, and texture. Possible nodules or changes can be detected and assessed. Thyroid sonography is an important examination for the diagnosis of thyroid diseases and early detection of thyroid cancer.
Abdominal Organ Sonography
Abdominal organ sonography allows for an examination of the internal organs in the abdominal cavity, such as the liver, gallbladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, and intestines. Changes, inflammations, or other diseases of the organs can be detected. In addition, blood flow in the organs can be assessed using Doppler sonography. Abdominal organ sonography is an important examination for suspected diseases of the internal organs or for unclear discomfort in the abdominal area.
Chest Sonography
Chest sonography examines the chest area to detect possible changes in the lungs, heart, or chest organs. For example, fluid accumulations or tumors can be detected. Chest sonography is an essential examination for suspected lung or heart diseases and for monitoring the progress of tumors.
Heart Sonography
Heart sonography, also called echocardiography, is an examination of the heart using ultrasound. The structure and function of the heart can be assessed. Possible thickening of the heart walls, changes in the heart valves, or circulatory disorders can be detected. Heart sonography is an important examination for suspected cardiovascular diseases or for monitoring the progress of heart diseases.
Vascular Sonography
Vascular ultrasound includes the examination of the body's arteries and veins, as well as the central vessels that lead to the head and brain. Circulatory disorders, narrowings, or blockages of the vessels can be detected. Vascular sonography is particularly important for examining the central vessels that lead to the head or brain. Doppler sonography can visualize blood flow and possible narrowings in the vessels, thus contributing to stroke prevention. Aortic sonography is also part of our ultrasound offerings and can detect early changes in the main artery that can lead to life-threatening conditions.

Our practice thus offers a wide range of ultrasound examinations that can be used for the diagnosis and monitoring of various diseases. All examinations are performed by experienced specialists and are painless and without radiation exposure.

If needed, we also offer a comprehensive consultation on the examination. Our doctors are available to explain the results and answer your questions. Regular ultrasound examinations can help detect diseases early and thus enable faster and more targeted treatment.
