A key method for diagnosing lung diseases is lung function testing, also known as spirometry. In our practice, we have a full-fledged body plethysmography device available for this purpose.

Compared to small peak flow devices, body plethysmography offers significantly more possibilities. While peak flow devices can only measure maximum airflow, body plethysmography allows for comprehensive lung function measurement. This includes not only maximum airflow but also lung volume, airway resistance, and other parameters. This is particularly advantageous in diagnosing and monitoring lung diseases such as asthma, COPD, or pulmonary fibrosis.

Lung function testing is performed in our practice using various methods. In addition to body plethysmography, we also offer spirometry and diffusion capacity measurement. The procedure for the examination is simple and uncomplicated. You breathe into a special device while various parameters are measured. The examination is painless and usually takes no longer than 30 minutes.

A lung function test is useful if you experience breathing difficulties, coughing, shortness of breath, or other symptoms that may indicate a lung disease. It enables precise diagnosis of lung diseases and optimal monitoring of their progression. This way, treatment can be specifically tailored to your individual needs.
