Skin cancer screening

Thorough skin cancer screenings can help protect your skin and your health.

We place great importance on a comprehensive and holistic approach to our patients, which also includes skin cancer screening to detect potential diseases early and treat them effectively.
What is skin cancer?
Skin cancer is the uncontrolled growth of skin cells that can lead to malignant tumors. There are different types of skin cancer, but the most common types are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Although less common, malignant melanoma, also known as black skin cancer, is particularly dangerous as it can quickly spread to other organs.
How does skin cancer screening work?
During skin cancer screening, the entire surface of the skin from head to toe is examined for changes, such as moles or pigmented spots. If necessary, these changes are examined more closely using a special dermatoscope.
Why is skin cancer screening important?
Skin cancer screening serves to detect and treat skin cancer early. The earlier skin cancer is detected, the higher the chances of a cure and the less invasive the intervention. Regular skin cancer screening is therefore particularly important, especially for people with high sun exposure or a family history of skin cancer.

By undergoing regular skin cancer screening, you minimize the risk of skin cancer going undetected and possibly being treated too late.
Of course, we are happy to answer any questions you may have about skin cancer screening and provide individual advice on your personal risk and appropriate protective measures.
